POSITION SUMMARY RIZZO International Inc. is seeking a senior civil, structural, or geotechnical engineer to lead analysis and design work for new and existing dams and water resources facilities and appurtenant structures. The successful candidate will specifically supervise new and remedial designs, foundation improvements, structural analyses, and hydrologic and hydraulic studies, and will be responsible for engineering staff oversight, client and regulator interactions, and business development. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform dam safety inspections, including annual operation inspections and FERC Part 12D inspections; Conduct geotechnical/structural analytical functions including stability, seepage, bearing capacity, and settlement analysis; Complete new and remedial designs for earth and rockfill embankment dams, concrete gravity dams, and various other water-impounding structures; Oversee the preparation of detailed design/construction drawings and specifications; Assist in the selection and qualification of subcontractors (specifically for drilling and surveying activities); Develop construction and engineering cost estimates for dam projects; Prepare technical reports and proposals. Provide input to planning efforts and coordination of project tasks; Staff supervision; and Mentoring and training of project level engineers. POSITION SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (advanced degree preferred); Professional Engineers License; 15+ years of experience in dam safety evaluations, and dam engineering design and analysis. Experience in projects regulated by state and federal agencies. BACKGROUND RIZZO International, Inc.
