One Jeanswear Group designs, markets, produces, and distributes a distinguished portfolio of branded and private label Jeanswear brands throughout North America. Our focus is on achieving long-term growth by delivering the most innovative product and brand strategies in the market.One Jeanswear Group is currently looking for a Vice President of Technical Design. The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:* Oversee, lead, develop and manage a team of 30 technical directors, designers, associates and assistants.* Achieve the financial goals of the company by ensuring that OJG maintains it's reputation and know how for being the experts in denim fit. Ensure that our brands accelerate their NPD ranking and customer reviews on fit across our brands are positive.* Determine process and protocols for the department to ensure the most efficient work-flow process for all team members.* Leader of department for all cross-functional and senior management meetings. Must have a strong point of view and be able to put the needs of the business above all else.* Serve as ambassador for OJG regarding when meeting with our retail partners. Must be able to work with outside parties in a diplomatic, respectful manner.* Assess current Centric PLM system as it relates to technical design to determine what enhancements or changes need to be made to accelerate the development, fit comments and production approval process.* Communicate and lead meetings with management from our factories and sample rooms.* Oversee bi-annual competitive fit sessions across all product categories and sizes.* Partner with design heads seasonally to determine which core styles will be signed off on by senior management for all size fits and wear tests prior to finalizing fits. Ensure team executes accordingly.* Determine when new fit models need to be brought in, partnering with design heads to ensure models are consistent with the brand demographic.* Ability to negotiate best prices with model agencies and fit form manufacturers.* Ensure that the department is meeting it's goals regarding time and action, fit iterations, PPA approvals and yield savings.* Send out department updates, new standards and best practices to our field team and factories on a quarterly basis.* Ability to innovate construction and design on garments to ensure OJG has best in class products across categories and sizes.* Consistently shop and assess the market for opportunities to improve our product.* Assess Bazaar Voice reviews and customer reviews on a regular basis to determine where improvements in fit need to be made.* Lead the fit process for new brands/initiatives partnering with design on establishing core fits.* Establish and manage the department budget. Determine cost savings where applicable regarding fit model expenses, fit models, T&E.* Work closely with the production and quality teams.* Ability to walk thru factories, review product and suggest process, construction, sewing, pattern improvements while in the facility.* Able to perform garment audits at a factory, DC or in house.* Track the performance of our factories and make placement recommendations to the production and quality team.* Travel domestically and oversees for retailer meetings, factory/sample room training and development, and to work with QA.
