The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer leads a team of individuals that provide data driven insights to Humana business leaders and internal HR partners. The Business Intelligence Lead is involved with executing and providing coaching to associates on moderately complex to complex approaches to analysis involving various factor, and leads the team in determining approach, tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information.
Knowledge of Human Resources processes assists the Senior Business Intelligence Engineer in providing recommendations for analysis approach and informing a continuous feedback loop for processes including various HR process centers. The incumbent in this role often serves as a link between business need and HR process execution, making recommendations to HR and business leader. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer uses broad subject matter expertise to advise senior leaders on strategy and direction for large-scale, complex work, exercises considerable independence and latitude in determining objectives and approaches to complex assignments, and anticipates needs of business leaders and HR partners with a focus of providing appropriate solutions based on available resources, technologies, and HR philosophy. The BI Lead has direct influence on department's strategy and is the owner of individual team strategy and direction.
* Bachelor's degree * 5+ years of technical experience in data analysis * Proficiency in managing and setting direction for a team * Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations * Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction * Skilled capability with Business Intelligence tools specifically Tableau software * Proficiency in working with and interpreting Human Capital related data * Expertise in verbal/written communication and building relationships with senior/executive leadership * Proficiency in creating business oriented goals based on basic to complex models * Proficiency in visual design and ability to tell the easily digested related story derived from data to inform high level business leaders * Proficiency in describing moderate to complex data outputs in a way that can be understood by partners across all skill levels * Ability to apply statistical concepts to data and ensure proper guidelines are utilized to direct customer focus
* Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field * Advanced in SQL, SAS and other data systems * Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, predictive modeling, and/or Workday
