The Senior Network Engineer, Enterprise IT Infrastructure Services, is the senior technical resource on a team consisting of Network Engineers, Network Administrators and Network Technicians. This individual leads technical meetings, overseas Network related technical projects, and provides mentoring and expertise to team members. This individual also develops and maintains long term plans and roadmaps including but not limited to the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), Technical Infrastructure Plan (TIP), and Operations Manual, ensuring they are updated regularly. This individual is responsible for strategic planning, design and overall network architecture decisions. This individual is very experienced and perceptive; a visionary that can discern, document, articulate and ultimately lead technology solutions to address or prepare for future business needs.
The Senior Network Engineer, Enterprise IT Infrastructure Services, ensures adherence to key performance measures for their areas of responsibility. Span of responsibility includes the following areas/:
*Network and Telecommunications Hardware and Software
*Interfacing with vendors and service providers
This position reports to the Network Manager, Enterprise IT Infrastructure Services Primary Accountabilities
Implement a best-practice infrastructure program to protect Health First information assets, ensuring appropriate information security measures are in place; coordinate and collaborate with the Enterprise IT Security team. Comply with all Federal and State regulatory requirements.
Provide technical guidance for the Health First Infrastructure Network project portfolio; set appropriate enterprise expectations, manage risks and ensure the organization achieves anticipated value; ensure infrastructure initiatives are tied to strategic initiatives and key focus areas of the organization.
Follow Health First strategic IT principles and policy guidelines in the selection of technology solutions. Set and review department standards for network software and hardware components.
Effectively oversee installation and maintenance of all Network hardware and software assets, within a framework of industry standards, ITIL best practices and Health First strategic IT principles and policy guidelines.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to create a dedicated, enthusiastic team, well-qualified to deliver on commitments and agile enough to change quickly.
Develop and maintain existing management systems and performance measurement dashboards to transparently track and report on key performance indicators.
Lead large scale projects, projects involving multiple engineers and/or multiple departments.
Meet with client areas to understand business requirements and mesh those with infrastructure strategic directions to lead large scale design & architecture efforts including those that go beyond the traditional network domain.
Ensure that all designs address high availability, reliability and the utmost security.
Set and document department standards and best practices.
Look to engage with associates at all levels outside of the department in technical and non-technical dialogs to develop business & technical solutions.
Oversee and advise on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity procedures and processes. Direct table-top exercises to validate and ensure that the team is capable and comfortable with the procedures and processes.
Quickly identify, escalate and remediate any perceived security threats or exposures.
Advise on MACD efforts when required for the most complex efforts to ensure compliance with standards and strategic directions.
Advise on daily operational issues as required in a timely manner.
Sets standards for detail level and formats for documentation.
Formalizes the strategy around equipment and software lifecycle and provides input to the budgeting process.Qualification:
Bachelor??s Degree in Computer Science or business relevant field preferred.
A minimum of eight years?? experience IT Network infrastructure technology.
Up-to-date knowledge of technology marketplace.
Three or more professional certifications in infrastructure related fields (CCNP, CCNA, MCSE, etc.) or other industry recognized infrastructure credential or demonstrated capabilities in 3 or more network specializations.
Experience in managing change in a fast paced, complex environment. Knowledge of ITIL best practices service management and Lean preferred.
Strong people skills.
Ability to serve as a role model and mentor.
Good understanding of customer service operations, and ??service-first? philosophies.
