Junior Designer, Luxury NY Studio

The Junior Designer role is responsible for collaborating on the conception, development and execution of package design on one of Coty's luxury skincare + fragrance brands. This role supports the Art Director + Creative Director in all phases of design with a high luxury aesthetic. The Junior Designer must have a basic understanding of budgetary and timeline restraints while maintaining brand standards.

Responsibilities:

* All phases of primary, secondary and promotional package design from concepting, comps to laying out artwork in dieline
* Color review of drawdowns, BATs, proofs
* Package componentry review
* Manage external comp houses and create mock-ups for meetings
* Design Turnovers (DTOs) of package designs to cross-functional teams
* Foster idea sharing, art direction and concepting
* Actively participate in meetings

Qualifications:

* 1+ years of package design experience, beauty industry is a plus
* Meticulous attention to detail, excellent typographic skills
* Passionate in product and graphic design; always seeking to grow and learn
* Highly motivated and self-starter
* Strong written and verbal skills to communicate ideas to both creatives and non-creatives
* Proficient in Adobe software - Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop; 3D software is a plus
* Basic print-production knowledge (dielines, bleed, color modes, live area, etc)
* Thrives in a team environment, contribute ideas and interact with cross-functional partners (Marketing, PCD, Production, Artwork Management)
* Manages well in a high-volume, fast-paced, open floor-plan environment
