Manager, Data, Analysis Reporting The Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI) is the nationrsquos authority on consumer financial health. Scope of Role CFSI seeks a data-loving manager with strong data mining, analysis, and modeling skills to contribute to a variety of strategically important initiatives across the thought leadership and consulting teams. The Data Manager will become an expert in CFSIrsquos proprietary data sets, helping teams leverage the data and insights in publications, presentations, and consulting deliverables. The individual in this role will also construct data models to help build business cases for client engagements and internal initiatives. Duties Responsibilities Consumer Research Data Become a subject matter expert in CFSIrsquos proprietary, consumer research data. Consult with colleagues about their data needs, and help them understand how to leverage CFSIrsquos data appropriately and accurately. Undertake exploratory data analysis projects to help CFSI uncover new insights and maximize the value of its data assets. Develop strategies to communicate CFSIrsquos data and insights and help internal and external audiences grasp the concepts and understand how to apply them to their work. Devise creative data visualization strategies. Help CFSI better leverage public, third-party consumer research data sets in thought leadership and consulting projects. Lead a variety of client facing projects. Data Modeling Build data models (unit-level economic models) for new products andor services. Modeling projects will include researching benchmarks to create realistic estimates creating multiple scenarios to account for different assumptions (best case, worst case, etc) and designing models that are easy to understand and use. They may also include validating and analyzing client data. Understand and adapt client financialdata models. Build basic financialdata models for new internal initiatives (products, projects, etc) to help CFSI understand profitability andor feasibility of a proposed project. Help internal teams develop cost estimates for internal and external proposals. CFSI Organizational Data Develop a familiarity with CFSIrsquos organizational data and internal systems. Consult with colleagues about their organizational data needs, and help them understand how to leverage CFSIrsquos data appropriately and accurately. Relationship Management and Business Development Manages a portfolio of relationships to drive action on Financial Health Surfaces and participates in the development of consulting, grant andor sponsorship business opportunities Quickly build trust and credibility with a range of external stakeholders such as financial services providers, research partners, and other collaborators Qualifications 4-6 years of professional experience involving data mining, data analysis, and datafinancial modeling Working knowledge of statistical concepts that impact the accuracy of data analysis (for example significance testing, regression analysis, sampling methodologies, and using weights) Familiarity with survey methodology and research design Excellent time management, project management and organizational skills Experience reviewing, cleaning, and structuring data for analysis experience with advanced analytical techniques, such as regression and cluster analysis, a significant plus Strong Excel and Stata skills familiarity with using scripts a significant plus. Proficiency in R or Python a plus. Data visualization experience a significant plus Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to effectively convey complex and data-related concepts to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences Extreme attention to detail and a passion for using data to inform and influence High degree of flexibility and maturity to work in an innovative, fast-paced environment and to readily embrace change Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside the organization Commitment to the mission of CFSI and a desire to positively impact the trajectory of a high-impact, national nonprofit Education Requirements Minimum Bachelorrsquos degree, GraduateMasterrsquos degree preferred.
